I never lost interest in the story and enjoyed every single one of the plus pages. But, I could never really know the inner lives and struggles of the characters. Each character has been shown to its complete depth. Lists with This Book. Mainly he got most famous form his novel 'Udas Naslain'.

Return to Book Page. Really liked the first half of the novel where you imagine how people were living in the villages and how simple their life would be. Abdullah Hussain is considered a prominent writer because of his way of writing. Depiction of village has made me speechless. The hovel is so exciting that the reader will love to read it more than once.

A bundle full of small tragedies in a single man story,you will need a large gut and patience to read this book because there is too much scene creation and depression created in every aspect of this book.

This novel narrates about the different aspects of a generation. But some readers may loose their interest just due to length of some scenes and even the length of the novel overall.

The situations and the descriptions are utterly breath taking. Very absolute depiction of that era after Indian rebellion of that even in some scenes it was down to the minor details of how Hindu, Muslim were living together in that era, how was their daily life, having no thought of getting a separate land.
